Wood hidden treasures

“Wood hidden treasures” – Polish-Norwegian exchange of experience in the field of conservation and promotion of cultural heritage

The project’s main idea is to consolidate cooperation between Polish and Norwegian conservators in the area of protection and promotion of the most precious treasures of the sacral architecture to expose values of the wooden culture heritage in the partnership countries. This is scheduled to be done from 01st April 2010 to 30th September 2011.

Within the aforementioned project three main activities will be conducted:
  • cataloguing the monuments of wooden architecture;
  • study visit to Norway;
  • Polish-Norwegian cooperation in the area of conservation projects.

There will also be introduced some state elements to the project, like management and promotional-marketing activity.

The main aim will be achieved through the implementation of the detailed aims:

  • improvement of the flow of the information about know-how in conservation techniques, protection and management of historical monuments;
  • exchange of the experts’ experience in the are of planning and implementation of conservation solutions;
  • popularizing the knowledge about sacral wooden architecture in Europe and methods of financing;
  • activation of the local societies.
